Honored by Writer’s Digest: Trial By FIRE Receives Honorable Mention.
Trial By FIRE: A Photojournalist’s Return to the Flames received Honorable Mention in Narrative Nonfiction in the 13th Annual Writer’s Digest Self-Published E-book Awards, selected from nearly 700 submissions worldwide. The recognition places the project among a small group of standout works acknowledged by Writer’s Digest editors for excellence in storytelling, craft, and impact, and affirms the book’s powerful blend of documentary photography and narrative journalism.
This work would not have been possible without the support of the City of Quincy, Massachusetts, my agent, my editor and layout team, and the generations of Quincy firefighters—past and present—who trusted me, opened their world, and helped shape my craft.
Trial By FIRE will go on public sale February 1st 2026. Stay tuned for a link where you can purchase the physical book or if you prefer eBook version.

Every place has a voice. Sometimes it whispers, sometimes it shouts. My work chases those voices—where they live, how they endure, and what they tell us about the people behind them.

These are stories of work, endurance, and purpose—told through photographs and words shaped by trust, time, and proximity.
